Therefore, in order to improve the stability of organic pigments to solvents, the molecular structure of organic pigments can be adjusted from various aspects.
1.The earliest method is to introduce inorganic salts into the water soluble dye to form lake, which is stable to solvent, but not very ideal for weather fastness.

2.Substituents of different polarity are introduced in the synthesis process to increase the insolubility of organic pigments, such as chromophenol As pigments.

3.The first phthalocyanine dye is phthalocyanine polysulfonate, there are many other metal complexes, so far the most widely used pigment is phthalocyanine.

4.By forming intermolecular hydrogen bonds, especially benzimidazolones, quinacridone (QA), pyrropyrrodidone (DPP), thiazine-indigo (YHI), and thioindigo tetrachloride derivatives.

5.By preparing azo condensation pigment, the relative molecular weight of the pigment can be doubled, so as to make it more insoluble.

6.When changing the structure of a molecule by introducing substituents, the introduction of long fat chains into the molecule should be avoided.
