The quality of masterbatch can be preliminarily judged by the smoothness of surface. Due to raw materials, formula, processing technology and other reasons lead to the color masterbatch mixing dispersion is not uniform, and  make the surface of the color masterbatch coarse. Especially serious, there will be serious dispersion of bad color spots on the surface of masterbatch.

If the surface of the masterbatch is not smooth during production, the extrusion temperature should be checked first. Extrusion temperature or head temperature is too high or too low will cause surface roughness, then it need to adjust the extrusion temperature.

If it is invalid after repeated adjustment, it may be caused by the following reasons:

1, the dispersity of the pigment is good, if the pigment particles are too hard, it will be poorly dispersed in the plastic, which cause the surface is not smooth.

2, dispersant (low molecular weight polyethylene) quality is qualified, dosage is appropriate. If some low molecular weight polyethylene mixed with paraffin, or high density low molecular weight polyethylene, will affect the dispersity of pigment.

3, the wetting treatment of pigment is not appropriate, no matter what means, it can not get a good dispersion, smooth surface of the masterbatch products.
