Summary
C.I. Pigment Orange 13 presents a bright yellow-orange color, with most commercially available varieties being semi-transparent, having a specific surface area of about 35ml/g. The color hue is slightly yellower than Pigment Orange 34, with a slightly lower tinting strength, and its fastness in the medium is also somewhat inferior.
Pigment Orange 13 is suitable for formulating printing inks but is rarely used in packaging printing inks. Its lightfastness in inks is generally average, not as good as Pigment Orange 12 (which serves as a standard for testing lightfastness in printing inks). It has quite good solvent resistance in inks, allowing the resulting ink products to withstand temperatures of 200°C. Therefore, Pigment Orange 13 is very suitable for formulating printing inks for metal decoration.
In China, Pigment Orange 13 is marketed under the names YG (Permanent Orange G) and YGR (Permanent Orange GR). Both have the same fastness, with lightfastness rated at level 5, heat resistance at 140°C, water resistance at level 4, oil resistance at level 4, acid resistance at level 5, and alkali resistance at level 3. The former is mainly used in offset inks, solvent-based and water-based printing inks, plastics, and educational supplies. The latter is mainly used in solvent-based and water-based inks, plastics, and educational supplies.
Yuhong Permanent Orange G, the color hue of Yuhong Pigment Orange 13 is similar to that of Orange 34, being yellower than Orange 34. It is resistant to vulcanization and migration in natural rubber, making it suitable for rubber coloring; it is resistant to detergents, has good water resistance, and is used for swimming products, sponges, viscose fiber pulp coloring, packaging inks, and metal decorative paint coloring, with heat resistance (200°C). The powder form can be used for coloring plastics, resins, inks, water-based coatings, and solvent inks; the filter cake form can be used for extruding water to direct color paste for inks.
