    The heat resistance of a pigment means that the pigment does not change significantly in shade and strength at a certain processing temperature.

     For various types of resins, the processing temperature generally ranges from 150°C for polyvinyl chloride resin to 300°C for polycarbonate resin. However, even for the same resin (such as LDPE), depending on its equipment, process conditions and product requirements, the processing temperature can range from 180°C in the blown film process to 280°C in the cast film process. While considering the high temperature resistance of the pigment, it is also necessary to consider the heating time. For example, when nylon 6 and polyester are polymerized, the (heating) time is 4h. Another thing to consider is the thermal stability of the colored resin itself. When the resin is heated, it will discolor such as yellowing due to thermal degradation.

    The thermal stability of pigments can be evaluated by thermal analysis. The thermal weight loss analysis (TG) is to measure the weight change of the pigment when heated at a certain heating rate. The temperature and weight curve is used to indicate the weight loss of the sample at different temperatures. Rate, the thermal stability of the pigment can be measured.
